Scholarship Management

Offering scholarships can help attract the best talent to your organisation.

Top candidates don’t want to work for just any company. They want to work for a company that cares for them and their education and will invest in their career progression.

But setting up and managing a scholarship programme can be time intensive. It can require a lot of administrative work, lots of different partners, and a lot of continued support of students that you sponsor – who can often be in different time zones.

This is where UniHouse can help.

How can we help you?

Our 6-step student success journey:

1. Onboarding

The first step in onboarding is to make sure that the candidate is comfortable with each step of the scholarship management process.

We’ll then make sure their English language skills are up to scratch, before booking them a relevant exam such as the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or Pearson UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration).

  • Stage 1- Orientation

Acquainting the candidate with the sponsorship programme and the general process.

  • Stage 2 - Language Competency Analysis

Sitting for an English language placement test to assess the candidate's language competencies.

  • Stage 3 - English Language Training

The candidate joins an optional training course to improve their English language.

  • Stage 4 - Language Exam

Booking a language exam which qualifies the candidate for the visa and academic study. This is usually IELTS, SELT or Pearson UKVI.

  • Stage 5 - Prep for the Next Phase

If the required score is achieved, the candidate progresses to Phase II.

2. Matching

Once English language examinations have been passed, we’ll start the process of matching the candidate with the most suitable course and university.

We will manage the whole university application process, until we receive a CAS statement (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies).

  • Stage 1 - Academic Matching

University course search and matching to Identify the most suitable university for the candidate

  • Stage 2 - University Application

University application process to obtain an academic offer

  • Stage 3 - Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)

Selected educational institute to issue the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) statement.

3. Visas and Travel Arrangements

We will apply for a visa on behalf of the candidate and book all flights and hotels for arrival.

Candidates will be met at the airport by a UniHouse representative and will be taken to their hotel before orientation.

  • Stage 1 - Visa Application

Apply for the visa on behalf of the candidate

  • Stage 2 - Travel Arrangements

Booking the flight ticket, hotels upon arrival

4. Orientation

During the candidate’s first week in the UK, we’ll support them through orientation, which includes police registration, opening a bank account, arranging accommodation, getting any relevant identification, and understanding a realistic cost of living.

  • Stage 1 - Meet and Greet

Candidates will be received at the arrival airport by a representative.

  • Stage 2 - Post-Arrival Arrangements

Support the candidates with the post-arrival arrangements, including; police registration, opening a bank account, accommodation identification, and city of living information.

  • Stage 3 - Pre-Sessional English (if needed)

Joining the Pre-Sessional English course for candidates who haven't met the university's minimum English exam score.

5. Study Support

Throughout the period of study, UniHouse will work with universities and students to understand progress on the course and produce a status report for the sponsor. We’re also on hand to help students navigate any challenges they are facing on their course.

UniHouse will also manage the payment of a student’s monthly salary during their studies, which will be paid within the first 10 days each calendar month.

  • Stage 1 - Study Follow-up

Study follow-up with the university and student to provide an actual academic achievement for the sponsor and define any study challenge for the student.

  • Stage 2 - Financial Support

During their period of study, students will receive a monthly salary within the first ten days of each month.

6. Post-Graduation

Once a student has graduated, UniHouse will guide them through a series of checks, such as closing bank accounts, closing their utility bills and handing over the keys to their accommodation.

We’ll also arrange return travel to the student’s home country.

  • Stage 1 - Post-Graduation

After graduating, our counsellors will guide the student through the post-studies phase (including closing the bank account, accommodation hand-over, and closing pending utility bills).

  • Stage 2 - Departure Arrangements

Book a flight ticket for the student to return to their home country.
